"Fresh"

The film Fresh was an informative film about the food industry with the purpose of educating the audience on where their food really comes from. The film shows how a large industry farmer runs their production and then highlights a smaller, local farmer and how they run their production.

Industry farmers usually keep their animals in small areas which allows for diseases to spread quickly. To prevent mass outbreaks of disease the industry farmer pump their livestock full of antibiotics to keep the animals healthy. Overall, this sounds like a great idea, but it is actually extremely harmful. This practice will eventually create antibiotic resistant bacteria which will affect the human population. Creating antibiotic resistant diseases will lead to incurable pandemics and many preventable deaths.

The Film also highlights how small local farmers take a better approach to protecting their animals and the people who eat their meats. The farmers mimic nature in their pastures and allow their animals to roam free. The local farmers have lower capacity for their land, so it prevents disease spreading in small spaces, so no antibiotics are used in the animals.

This film truly highlights the importance of buying organic meats and how it is better for humanity and the environment. Not only does buying organic meats help your own health, but it supports small businesses and prevents the growth of bad industry practices and causing issues for the planet in the long run.
